The Perfect Tree

We got our Christmas tree on Sunday- after the downpour of rain on Saturday. I think everyone else was getting their tree that day too. Maddy was so cute and wanted to help pick the tree out. She is really into Christmas this year and it is so exciting. When we got home we decorated it and Maddy wanted to put up every "ormanent" herself. She couldn't wait to help us put the lights on and all. Now every night she wants the lights on before it is even dark. This is a magical time of year- and even more so when you see it from a children's view. We are loving our tree!!

Picking out just the right tree

Brody was more in to his Ritz crackers than choosing a tree.

"I like this one Mommy." That is what she kept saying.
Waiting so patiently with Daddy.

Hanging a special ornament.

All tangled in the lights!

This is what Brody would rather be doing :)

I love this picture! She was such a big helper!

Somebody is on the move

He is walking! Not all the time, but walking. Tonight he walked across the room and last night he took 10 steps two different times. It is so cute to watch his face when he figures out that he is standing up. So fun! We are in for it now!

Sleepover

Packing their bags...
Brody wants to pull it...

All ready to go!

Maddy and Brody had a sleepover last weekend at Gamma
and Poppy's house and this is her getting ready to go!
She packed her backpack all by herself and was very proud!

Christmas at the Club

She had to check him out...
...then he did too

Ever since I was a little girl, we have gone to the SACC Christmas celebration every year. The past two years have been especially fun since Maddy is so in to Christmas and Santa Claus. This year was fun to see Maddy so excited about Santa and Brody not so sure. Last year at this event, I was nine and a half months pregnant with the little guy. This year we had a "tee time" for our picture with Santa, which made it so much better so nobody had to stand in line all evening. There was storytime, crafts, cookie decorating and of course sitting on Santa's lap. We had a delicious dinner and good conversation. Maddy and Grey made us laugh a lot and Brody loved all the lights. It was a great way to get ready for the spirit of the season!

They were both listening very carefully to storytelling!

Christmas in Ladera

Last weekend we went to the Ladera celebration to see Santa arrive on the firetruck and his reindeer. It was a cold, fun night with Auntie Bri, Grey (uncle Geoff has been in Hawaii for work), and the Bricks. The kids had fun running around on the grass. We had fun chatting. We didn't stay very long because it was so cold and after seeing Santa, the kids were tired. We spotted the reindeer in the parking lot on the way back to the car. It was very cool to see real reindeer. We ended the night with some frozen yogurt. It was a great way to get us in the Christmas spirit!

Goose Egg

Brody got his first goose egg on his head last Monday! I say first because I am sure there are many more in his future. This boy is A BOY!! He is curious about everything and wants to be everywhere. He can't sit still very long before being on the move! He still looks pretty cute even with a huge bump on his head.

Boogers in the brain...

Maddy has a cold and this is how our conversation went today in the car:

Maddy: "Mommy, I don't want my nose to be like this."

Mommy: "I know baby, the doctor said only a couple of more days and you will be better."

Maddy: "But mommy, I don't want boogers in my brain."

Because of course according to an almost three year old, where else would boogers come from than your brain, since it is right above your nose. WOW- she is smart! :) I was laughing out loud. She cracks me up with the things she says.

Today, while walking to Gamma's front porch, she almost tripped and said, "Woah- I almost took a digger."
