Mom's Day!

Mother's Day was fun and relaxing this year! We started off with a delicious breakfast made by my hubby. Breakfast burritos, bloody mary's, mimosas, sausage, fruit and asparagus.  My mom, dad, Bri, Geoff and Grey joined us at our house. We then headed to the putting green park to play. Later in the day we went to Stacy's house to celebrate with Mike's mom and family. We had yummy Italian food and played in the pool! Such a great day to be with our moms- and to be a mommy!

Thank you to my amazing children for giving me the best job in the world of being your mommy. Everyday you amaze me with the things you say, do and learn. Maddy- you are too smart for a three year old. You are sweet and kind, funny and sensitive.  I look forward to our conversations and Eskimo kisses. I love you to the moon and back. Brody- you are my little man. I could eat up your cheeks and kiss you all day long. You are funny, curious, and have little dance moves that are quite impressive. I love you too much!

P.S. My camera was barely pulled out on this day. Too much fun I guess!

To my mom- you are the best mom that a girl could ask for. Your kindness, giving, selfless nature is admirable. Being a mommy now has given me a new view on the love you have for us three. I am so blessed with our friendship.  You are the best Gamma in the world! I love you!

To Nancy- Mike is an amazing husband and daddy because of the way he was raised. That is a reflection of the wonderful mom you are. You are a giving, loving Grandma! I got very lucky in the mother-in-law department. XOXO

Reading Buddies

I LOVE that my kids LOVE to read! They will sit together and read books for a long time! Maddy's favorite thing to do is "read" to her brother. On this morning, she told him to come sit in her lap so she could read him a story. They really are best buddies and I love watching them together! This book is one that we read to Maddy all the time when she was little. A classic from Hawaii  :) called A to Zippy's! The babies love it! I don't know why they get so fascinated with it. Thanks Moysas for a gem of a book that has lasted us three years plus!

Who took my sweet boy?

Brody has been so whiny, clingy, unhappy lately. Yesterday I took the day off from work because my sweet boy had a high temperature for no reason. No cold, no ear infection, nada, nothing, except a 102 temp. So today he is better and a little happier.  I did see one of his big teeth popping through so that could be a reason for the whiny, clingy boy, since my kids are horrible teethers! I have friends who don't even know when their kids pop a tooth- oh how I wish. My kids get it all, teething poops, I mean get it all! So here we are looking a lot like this these days...

My poor boy! He has been miserable! Because of that- I am getting a lot of extra cuddles and hugs, which I love! Feel better sweet Brody boy. I want you to be happy again!

Tea for two

Maddy loves to have tea parties. My mom gave her my old tea sets from when I was little. She keeps them in a special box and brings them out when she wants to have a tea party. She also has a special new "desk" (she calls it) from Nana for her tea sets. Today she had a tea party with her baby, Emerson. Yes, she named her new baby after her baby cousin in utero. :) I loved playing tea when I was little and think it is so special that my own little girl uses the same tea sets that I did one day. She has to set up high on the table so little stinker boy doesn't get the tiny pieces. Sidenote: I say stinker boy with the utmost love and devotion- that is just one of his many nicknames. We use chocolate chips as our scones and pretend to drink our tea. Aaahhh- another beautiful thing about my girlie girl- she loves tea parties!
