The Princess and the Frog

Last weekend my mom and I took Maddy to her first movie! I had been excited to take her to the movies and when The Princess and the Frog came out, I thought that would be perfect! She was really excited and mom and I told her how it was like a huge TV. She got to pick her treat, gummy bears, and have some of Gamma's popcorn. I never let her have popcorn..for those who know me know why---chozing hazard. Hey- even I choke on popcorn sometimes and I am 30. So, we got all settled in the theatre and were ready to watch the show. Not long into it, Maddy realized how fun it was to play with the chairs that go up and down. She enjoyed the movie, but not as much as the chairs. We had a good time! It will be another couple years before we see another one :).

I LOVE FEBRUARY

I LOVE the month of February!

I LOVE the feeling of love, the look of hearts,
the colors red and pink.

I LOVE that it is my birthday.

I LOVE that it is V Day.

I LOVE that it is Maddy's birthday!

I am excited for this month!

Bring on the LOVE!

It's raining, it's pouring...

A couple weekends ago we were playing in the rain...jumping in puddles...playing with our umbrella and collecting leaves! It felt great to be outside and be kids!

The things she says

The things Maddy says these days are too much. Somedays (who I am kidding- everyday) my heart bursts with love for her. I don't know if she will ever really know how much I love her. Actually I do- it will be the day she has her first child. That is when I realized how much my mom really loves me. I think of myself being my mom's age and Maddy being 30 and think that I will STILL love her this much. Lately she says "I love you mommy, you're my best friend." All in one breath!! And it is the cutest thing ever. I don't know where she got it. But it melts my heart everytime!

SUNday Funday

A gorgeous day at Salt Creek!
The walk tired this little guy out- since he skipped his morning nap. However, he woke up in time to play on the grass.

Tumbling down the hill! The joys of being three!

Love this girl!

A portrait of us taken by the lovely photographer- Madalyn Marie Shwam

Riding her new scooter- And yes, she does wear shoes and a helmet when riding but this was just a posed photo shot :)

He's awake and ready to play!

Running to see her brother - she was so excited he woke up from his snooze.

She greeted him with a hug! The love between these two is priceless.

Time to get thrown in the air!

Go Maddy!

Brody's turn!

He wanted to try the scooter out too. His smile shows the thrill he was feeling.

Last Sunday we went to Salt Creek to walk the trails and then play on the big grass area. It was a perfect day. The weather was beautiful and so clear. It was warm and crisp. We even saw a pod of dolphins swimming in the middle of all the surfers. The kids rode Maddy's new scooter and ran and chased eachother. They even got thrown in the air by Daddy, one of their favorite things to do. It was one of those times that I looked at my husband and my kids and where we live and felt truly blessed.

Maddy's first "official" playdate

A couple of weeks ago Maddy's friend, Ashley came over to play without her mommy. This was Maddy's first "official" playdate because we picked Ashley up and brought her over to our house. The girls played with Maddy's toys, ate lunch, read books in the Dora tent and had a great time. I was so proud of Maddy for doing a good job sharing all of her new toys from Santa. We are so happy that our friend Ashley lives so close and we can share lots of memories with them. It is so fun too because I grew up with Ashley's daddy, Jason, and now our kids are growing up together. We love you Bricks!!

Ashley, Maddy and Brody wanting to play with the girls

Playing with "sticky blocks" aka Magnatiles

Loving the new train table

Giving a friendly hug...I love this picture!

Eating lunch in the playhouse, which didn't last long because the table is too small for two plates..we moved on to the big table.

Once the girls were out of there, Brod wanted in.

YUM!

Reading books in the Dora tent.

It was a fun day!!

Our Little Slugger

Today was Brody's 1st birthday party at Gymboree. Having a birthday in December makes it hard to guess the weather so I wanted to make sure the party was somewhere inside. I have been to a Gymboree party before with Maddy and they are so fun. There is so much to do for the kiddos. The theme was baseball and we celebrated that our little slugger turned one year old! It was a fun party with lots of entertainment, friends, family and baseball cupcakes. Brody was very excited about the music and danced anytime it was on. People commented on how cute of a one year old dancer he was. He loves to move! I think his favorite part of the day was playing with the balloons after he woke up from his three hour nap. He was a tired birthday boy! Thanks for celebrating our little slugger's first birthday!

Brody and Mommy making the baseball cupcakes for his party!

The party bags said, "Thanks for making my party a GRAND SLAM!"

Maddy was so cute and enjoyed herself. She was very proud it was her brother's party.

Playing with the toys before his friends arrive.

Getting his groove on.

All the kids were ready for the slide.

Maddy ready to play baseball.

Brody was first up to bat. Nice swing!

The bubbles were a big hit. Maddy wanted to eat them and Brody was very interested.

Brody wasn't so sure of all the bubbles in his face.
Singing and dancing to "The Wheels on the Bus."

Maddy wanted to sit with her friend Blake and Vanessa.

Mommy, Daddy and the Birthday Boy!

Maddy was ready for Bro to blow out his candle. Can you tell by her face she wanted cupcakes!

It didn't take him long to dig in.
Someone loved his cake!

The best part of the day for Brody was playing with his balloons. They were a big hit in our house.

Opening his presents with help from his sister.

A Bushel and a Peck...

When I was little, mom would always say a special verse before bed. She taught it to Maddy awhile back and now Mad says it every night to me...over and over and over and over...It is so sweet, so cute and special to hear my little girl saying the same words I said when I was little.

So goodnight my little Maddy girl...

I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug, hug, hug around the neck, neck, neck..boop boop boop!
